FROM BEGINNING TO END
miss catalena jewelei vasiliev was born upon a harsh wintery night in december in Moscow, Russia. the second born child and first born daughter to aleksandr and rebekka vasiliev. the vasiliev having a son three years prior to catalena's birth were pleased with her birth; her mother especially. upon reaching the age of two, catalena was able to somewhat experience first hand what her older brother got to experience when she was born. the vasiliev family had welcomed another son into their warm home. catalena, who was curious about her new little brother, tended to stay by her mother's side for every cry, feeding, and changing. her older brother of course had disregarded the new addition to the family. catalena had once asked her older brother why he did not want to be around the little boy and the response she had received was along the lines that it was not his job to watch for the little runt. it was only his job to watch out for her since she was his little sister. not fully understanding what he had truly felt about their younger brother at such a young age, catalena accepted his answer with little worry.
at the age of four, catalena was introduced to the wizarding society that her family had thrived in. constant gatherings that were conducted by countless families all looking to come on top as a grand stand family. mindless and strenuous talks of business and how the ages of the great wizarding world was crumbling to the ground at a fast pace. how the strongest ties to magic through blood was beginning to dwindle thanks to the interbreeding with the muggle population. catalena had heard just about it all as she became fully immersed into that way of thinking by the time she had hit the age of five. a young, impressionable child who now had a immense dislike for anyone who her family and their friends thought to be below their status.
at the age of six, catalena was brought into her mother's circle of friends. several ladies who would gossip about their husbands, their sons, and even each other or other ladies they knew for kicks. it was through these ladies that zabryna learned the art of both conversation and the importance of conducting one's self as a young lady. no longer was she allowed to act like a child and play with childish toys. she now had to do what was expected of her parents. she was no longer allowed to tune them out or else she would face the consquenses for such behavior. of course, through it all, her older brother was there for her telling her that he would be there to help her along. and he always was there for her for every task that she had been given by her mother or father.
it was an unusally warm day in september when catalena awoke to find herself feeling different. attending to her bedroom chores, catalena had gone off to get herself presentable for the day when the family cat; Cyperus had decided to so convinently to knock over and shatter a crystal witches' ball that her grandmother kuznetsov had given her for her seventh birthday. feeling a bout of rage toward the cat, catalena felt a rush of power flow through her body and towards Cyperus. the next thing she knew, her parents were in her room to see what had happened as Cyperus had crashed against the painting that layed above her bed. the painting in question had come crashing to the ground behind her bed post while Cyperus landed comfortably upon her freshly made bed. glaring at the cat as it hissed at her before dashing out of her room, she turned to face her parents who held looks of pride and excitment. she had just committed her first act of magic.
now with her magical abilities starting to pop up here and there do to an array of emotions, catalena had added control practice to her daily regiment. of course, there had also been a grand party to celebrate her coming of age into her magical powers. that was a night that catalena woulud prefer to be left as a secret. never to be repeated ever again in the remainer of her life time. at age eight, catalena held to deal with the lost of her older brother to the start of his magical schooling. having to see him leave upon the black and gold train was one of the hardest things that she had to do. he had been her rock and shoulder to cry upon when her lessons had become too rough on her.
as her older brother's early school years went by, catalena became more independent. since her older brother was no longer there to help her out, catalena started to shape up on her own. something that her parents were proud to witness. they knew of the bond that she and her brother held and they knew that he had been helping her along with her lessons. both were ever so pleased when their eldest son left for his schooling, for it had allowed catalena to rely upon herself rather than someone else.
upon reaching the age of eleven, catalena had been offered the chance to begin her magical studies with her brother at the russian academy for young witches and wizards. both of her parents however were unsure about sending her due to the roughness of the school. after much convincing, her parents had allowed her to attend only to end up owling their eldest son to let him know that he was to be their eyes, ears, and guide to his little sister. arriving the first day, catalena was met with the sounds of nervous laughter and grand sites. and amoung these sites stood a familiar male looking over at her with a smirk upon his lips. her older brother.
magical education at the russian academy for young witches and wizards was no walk in the park as catalena had soon learned during the first few weeks of her first year. the classes that were taught were taught with the strictest of professors who demanded the upmost respect. and if a professor did not like you for what so ever reason not stated, well, then you were literally doomed in the class. however, unlike a handful of her classmates, catalena had an upper hand since most the professors had had her older brother and had simply adored him. so somewhat naturally it was expected that the professors would have a same reaction to catalena herself. and in all cases, that was the result except there was a minor difficulty. having an older sibling who the professors adored had left a bit of a bitter taste in catalena's mouth as she was expected by the professor to be just a good as her brother was. she was expected to know more and have marks just as high as her brother. this was her first and not her last taste of what it was like to be stuck in a sibling rivalry with the one person she was closest to.
upon the celebration for her borther's graduation from the academy, catalena had gain permission from the headmaster to attend. arriving back at her home which she had not seen since she had left her school three years prior, she took note of how much little had changed. stopping momentarily to straighten out her gown, catalena knocked lightly upon the door. once the door had been opened, catalena looked into the familiar eyes of her younger brother. giving him a slight bow, she made her way past him and into the hall that served as a place for gatherings. weaving in and out of the countless bodies spearing each half a glance, catalena found the group of people she was most anxious to see; her family. straighting her shoulders and back, catalena stood tall as she graciously made her way over to her family. a small smile danced upon her lips. making eye contact with both of her grandmothers first, she watched as both had to cover their lips in surprise. it did not take long for both of her grandfathers to realize their wives sudden lack of interest in the conversation. They too were not looking at catalena with identical smirks as they drew the attention of her mother, father, and older brother. Placing herself a few feet away from her family, she waited for a signal that would allow her to join in the conversation. moments later she had been wrapped up in a hug by her mother. looking up to her father, she could see the approval in his eyes.
it was during the last few months of her fifth year at russian academy when the overall trouble had begun. being summoned back home immediately after her finals, catalena was immediately thrown into chaos as her family was desperate to get out of magical russia due to an unexpected magical revolt against the russian ministry of magic. with her younger brother and herself in tow, the vasiliev family left russia and settled for heading to england. managing to settle down just outside of devin, england, the vasiliev family had started to rebuild their lives. her father became part of the britian ministry of magic in foreign affairs while catalena and her younger brother had been transferred to hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry to carry on their magical training.
during her first year at hogwarts which was her sixth year of magical training, she had been sorted into slytherin house and found herself comfortable amongst her new peers. although she had mainly kept to herself despite the student population being curious about her. but despite the change in school, catalena felt more content as she was no longer competing with her older brother for good grades like she had been back in russia. now catalena is in her final year of magical training and is eager to finish school with a sense of accomplishment and pride.wow you've been through hell haven't you?
HERES YOUR CHANCE AT FREEDOM
The day had proven to be beyond miserable to everyone who had ventured outside the castle walls. The sun had been baking the earth and the students that had attend Herbology and Care of Magical Creature. This of course had included Avery herself. She felt hot and sticky, and not in a good way either. She wanted nothing more to do then skive off her afternoon lessons for a more favorable area of shade or relief. But alas, she had chosen to attend the rest of her lessons. As dinner finally came to pass , Avery watched in the majority of hall had opted for shedding their robes and ties. Some even had the guts to strip down to a tank top or camisole in the presence of the professors and Headmistress during the meal. Avery, who had changed her clothes in between her Herbology and Charms lessons, had not opted for not shedding a few layers. Yes, she was indeed warm, but her choice of outfit would surely get her in trouble.
As dinner came to a close, Avery remained seated as her fellow peers rose and left for their designated Manors. From the corner of her eye, she could see the some of the Armenio members venturing out the back door to their manor. 'Lucky sons of bitches, she thought as she knew they were certainly keeping cool unlike the other four manors just for the fact of the high money investments. Noticing that the majority of the hall, including the professors had left, Avery pushed herself from the table and ventured out into the Main Hall. She had plenty of time to roam around the grounds before her curfew was up. So, with a look of both ways, Avery made her way up to a set of side doors and opened them.
Slipping through the doors, Avery was greeted by the muggy sensation of the Italian atmosphere. Peeling off her black encrusted robes and tie, Avery walked down the stone steps and set her destination for the Lake. With her luck, everyone would already be worried about their homework assignments. Kicking up dirt as she ventured down the worn path, Avery allowed her eyes to scan the vast grounds of Edyn Hall Academy. She could the unused Quidditch Pitch in the distance with a beautiful mountain setting in the background, the Academy Labyrinth looking to lure victims into its extremely tall hedges, and the Forest with its mysterious and dangerous mysteries.
Upon arriving at the Lake's edge, Avery, gave another glance around the area. She could neither see nor hear anyone about the vicinity. Deciding that she was alone for now, she began to remove the rest of her clothing until only an emerald bikini was visible. Setting her clothes on a nearby rock to avoid them getting wet, Avery walked over to the water's edge. Staring back up at her was her own reflection that had appeared to be a girl way wiser and older than the one looking down up it. Kicking her left foot across the watery image to make it disappear, Avery slowly ventured into the water allowing her body to soak in the sweet coolness that it had ached for earlier in the day. As the water covered her waist line, Avery took a few steps back before diving into the dark waters. The feel of the water was refreshing to her hot skin. Coming up moments later, Avery wiped the water from her face and allowed herself to float upon her back. Not having a care in the world.show me who you are
